VOLLEYBALL CENTRAL: vs. South Carolina

KNOVXVILLE, Tenn. – After a three-game road trip, the University of Tennessee volleyball returns to Thompson-Boling Arena to host University of South Carolina on Wednesday night.

The Lady Vols (16-5, 7-2 Southeastern Conference) are coming off of a 2-0 weekend where they defeated Texas A&M and LSU on the road improving to 3-1 on the road in conference play. Tennessee sits in fourth in the SEC standings just a half a game back of Missouri for third.

South Carolina (15-4, 6-3 SEC) is coming off of a 1-1 week with a win over Georgia in four sets on Sunday and a three-set loss at Arkansas on Wednesday. The Gamecocks come into Knoxville ranked 29th in the latest RPI rankings, released by the NCAA on Monday.

The match will air on SEC Network with the first serve scheduled for 7:00 p.m. (ET) in Thompson-Boling Arena.

SHE CAN DIT IT
Senior Brooke Schumacher was one of four Tennessee players with double-digit digs in the match at LSU. With her 18-dig performance, Schumacher moved into eighth on the career-digs list. She currently sits at 1,270 for her career. Schumacher is 11 digs away from tying Nikki Fowler for seventh on the list and 68 digs away from entering the top five in program history.

The University of Tennessee volleyball team captured its second win of the weekend on the road as the Lady Vols beat LSU in four sets.
- Backed by a 20-kill match from junior Tessa Grubbs and a career-high tying 19 kills from senior Erica Treiber, the Lady Vols moved to 3-1 on the road in Southeastern Conference play.

Erica Treiber and Tessa Grubbs each finished the match with double-digit kills in a 3-1 home loss to the Gamecocks of South Carolina.

Treiber had 11 kills and a .375 hitting percentage, while Grubbs finished with 10 kills and a .385 hitting percentage for Tennessee (11-10, 4-8 SEC). Sophomore setter Sedona Hansen recorded her 12th double-double of the 2017 season with 23 assists and 13 digs for the Lady Vols.

STANDOUT STAT
With nine aces over the weekend (1.00 aces/set), senior Erica Treiber jumped from 11th to fifth in the conference in aces per set. She currently has a 0.37 ace/set average. Treiber set a new career-high with six aces in a five-set win at Texas A&M Friday night.

HANSEN
Junior Sedona Hansen recorded her 11th double-double of the season with a season-high 48 assists to go along with 13 digs against LSU. She has tallied six of her double-doubles in conference play this season.

TREIBER
Treiber is the only power five player to rank in the top nine in their conference in in hitting percentage (.384/2nd SEC), blocks/set (1.04/6th SEC) and aces/set (0.37/5th SEC).

NEXT UP
Tennessee is back on the road to face off against the Georgia Bulldogs on Sunday. The Bulldogs enter the weekend on a four-game losing streak and will play No. 14 Kentucky in Stegeman Coliseum on Friday night.
