Tennessee looks to solidify its position in the Southeastern Conference standings against the Gamecocks
KNOVXVILLE, Tenn. – After a three-game road trip, the University of Tennessee volleyball returns to Thompson-Boling Arena to host University of South Carolina on Wednesday night.

The Lady Vols (16-5, 7-2 Southeastern Conference) are coming off of a 2-0 weekend where they defeated Texas A&M and LSU on the road improving to 3-1 on the road in conference play. Tennessee sits in fourth in the SEC standings just a half a game back of Missouri for third.

South Carolina (15-4, 6-3 SEC) is coming off of a 1-1 week with a win over Georgia in four sets on Sunday and a three-set loss at Arkansas on Wednesday. The Gamecocks come into Knoxville ranked 29th in the latest RPI rankings, released by the NCAA on Monday.

Senior Brooke Schumacher was one of four Tennessee players with double-digit digs in the match at LSU. With her 18-dig performance, Schumacher moved into eighth on the career-digs list. She currently sits at 1,270 for her career. Schumacher is 11 digs away from tying Nikki Fowler for seventh on the list and 68 digs away from entering the top five in program history.
