Rogers Leads Vols Saturday at 49ers Invite

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Tennessee freshman Andrew Rogers won all three of his matches to lead the Vols on Saturday at the 49ers Fall Invitational.

Rogers rebounded after a first-round loss Friday and collected a pair of singles victories in straight sets. He defeated Marcus Vidgren of Charlotte 6-2, 6-2 and then advanced past Alex Fries of Davidson 6-2, 7-5.

He also teamed up for a doubles victory with sophomore Luca Wiedenmann.

In Saturday's action, sophomore Scott Jones and freshman Adam Walton won their main draw quarterfinals before losing the semifinals later in the day. Jones won his 10th match of the fall, defeating Richmond's John Karlawish 6-2, 6-1. Walton beat Max Freeman of Vanderbilt 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.

The tournament concludes Sunday.
