Stodder's Tournament Run Ends in Regional Final

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee junior Timo Stodder lost in the singles final to Vanderbilt's Daniel Valent 6-1, 6-1 on Monday to conclude the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships.
The loss snapped Stodder's career-best six-match winning streak. The junior from Berlin, Germany, was seeded No. 2 in the tournament. Valent was seeded third.
Stodder is now a team-leading 10-3 this fall.
By reaching the finals, Stodder qualified for the ITA National Fall Championships presented by Oracle, which will be held Nov. 1-5 at Indiana Wells and Palm Desert, California. The tournament is replacing the national indoor championships, which have been held in recent years at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York.
The Vols are back in action Friday at the SEC Fall Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
