Men's Basketball
BARNES PRESS CONFERENCE -- The Men's Basketball team opened practice last Friday with a spirited first day. Rick Barnes talked to the media on Tuesday and was pleased with the effort of his young squad. The Vols roster will feature eight freshman and five sophomores in 2016-17 in Coach Barnes' second season at the helm.
Women's Basketball
LADY VOLS OPEN PRACTICE -- Head Coach Holly Warlick talked to the media on Tuesday, one day after the Lady Vols opened practice. The team hit the floor on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in preparation for the 2016-17 season. The Lady Vols welcome back eight letterwinners from last year's Elite Eight team.
Soccer
WILKINSON NAMED NSCAA NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- Hannah Wilkinson was named the Women's College Player of the Week by the NSCAA after scoring seven points in two games last week. She led the Vols to an overtime win over Indiana State.
The Vols will play host to Texas A&M at Regal Stadium on Sunday at 5 p.m. as they head into the home stretch of the 2016 season.
Men's Tennis
VALERO, SCHIPANSKI WIN ALL-AMERICAN OPENER -- Luis Valero and Jack Schipanski opened the ITA All-American Championship with a ranked doubles win over no. 23 Stanford 7-6(5), 7-6(5).
Volleyball
HOW-TO WITH HOLMES -- Tennessee senior Bri Holmes instructs Elaina Lanson on how to get a volleyball kill. Holmes recently recorded her 750th career kill.
Softball
SEVEN VOLS EARN EASTON/NFCA SCHOLAR-ATHLETE HONORS -- Erin Gabriel, Rainey Gaffin, Megan Geer, Matty Moss, Abby Lockman, Kelsey Morrison and Bria Bush all earned recognition after posting GPA's of 3.5 or higher during the 2015-16 academic school year.
Football
GRANT NAMED SEC LEGEND -- The Vols will head to College Station, Texas for a Top-10 matchup with unbeaten Texas A&M on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS. The Vols are coming off a comeback win over #25 Georgia on a hail mary pass from Joshua Dobbs to Jauan Jennings as time expired.
The Vols hope to be in Atlanta at the end of the season as the SEC will honor their 2016 class of SEC Legends during the week of the SEC Championship game. #VFL Deon Grant was named a part of the class after playing for Tennessee from 1997-99. The All-American defensive back recorded 141 tackles and 14 interceptions in his UT career.
