For the third time this season, ESPN College GameDay, which kicks off at 9 a.m. ET, will be on site for a Tennessee football game. The College GameDay crew of Rece Davis, Samantha Ponder, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack was in Bristol, Tenn., on Sept. 10 for the Pilot Flying J Battle at Bristol featuring the Vols (5-0, 2-0 SEC) and Virginia Tech and the show traveled to Knoxville on Sept. 24 for the UT-Florida game at Neyland Stadium. Tennessee is 2-0 this season when College GameDay is broadcasting from the Vols' game location.
Saturday's broadcast on CBS will feature Verne Lundquist (PxP) and Gary Danielson (color analyst) calling the game from the booth and Allie LaForce reporting from the sidelines. Fans can also listen live on their local Vol Network affiliate with Bob Kesling, Tim Priest, Brent Hubbs and Eddie Moore in the booth with John Brice on the sidelines. Fans can also listen in on the national Sirius XM broadcast on channel 84.
Tickets for the game can be purchased online via 12thManFoundation.com.
Tennessee is 2-0 all-time against Texas A&M (5-0, 3-0 SEC) and Saturday marks the first time the Vols face the Aggies in conference play. UT defeated Texas A&M, 3-0, on Dec. 28, 1957, in the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Fla. On Jan. 1, 2005, the Vols took a 38-7 win over the Aggies in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. UT never trailed in that Cotton Bowl victory with Rick Clausen (18-for-27, 222 yards, 3 touchdowns) and Gerald Riggs (18 carries 102 yards, one touchdown) leading the way on offense and the Big Orange defense forcing five turnovers.
UT is coming off of a second-straight SEC comeback win. One week after a dramatic 38-28 comeback victory over Florida, Vols took down Georgia, 34-31, at Sanford Stadium thanks to a late defensive touchdown off of a fumble recovery and Joshua Dobbs' 43-yard Hail Mary to Jauan Jennings with time expiring. Tennessee is 5-0 of the first time since 1998.
Texas A&M enjoyed a 24-13 road win over South Carolina. The Aggies racked up 216 rushing yards and ran for three touchdowns with Trayveon Williams (14 carries, 98 yards, one touchdown) and Trevor Knight (12 carries, 84 yards, one touchdown) pacing the offense. Texas A&M is 5-0 for the third-straight season.
11-STRAIGHT WINS
Tennessee's Hail Mary victory over Georgia last Saturday pushed the Vols' winning streak to 11 games dating to the 2015 season--the second-longest active streak in FBS.
It is the longest UT win streak since the Vols won 14 in a row, spanning a 13-0 1998 season to a victorious first game in 1999.
A win Saturday at Texas A&M would tie the Vols for the fourth-longest win streak in program history.
JENNINGS TRENDING
Sophomore WR Jauan Jennings has delivered a signature fourth-quarter touchdown in each of UT's last two wins.
Jennings finished with a career-best 111 receiving yards in the win vs. Florida, scoring the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 67-yard touchdown strike.
The Murfreesboro native then played hero in last week's improbable win at Georgia, hauling in a 43-yard Hail Mary as time expired.
VOLS ON COLLEGE GAMEDAY
With ESPN College GameDay broadcasting live from College Station on Saturday, Tennessee is appearing on the famed pregame show for the third time this season and for the 21st time overall.
The Vols are appearing on the show for the third time in the last five weeks. The 2016 Tennessee team joins Ohio State in 1996, Florida in 1997, Michigan in 1997, Oklahoma in 2000, Oklahoma in 2001, Ohio State in 2006 and Texas in 2008 as programs to have appeared on the show three times in five regular season weeks or fewer.
In 20 all-time appearances on College GameDay, the Vols are 9-11 and 4-3 as a true visiting team.
TENNESSEE ON CBS, 4-IN-A-ROW
Tennessee's Oct. 15 SEC contest against Alabama will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET at Neyland Stadium and will be televised as the SEC on CBS Game of the Week. Next week's game marks the fourth-consecutive week that the Vols will be featured on the SEC on CBS Game of the Week. Tennessee the first program to accomplish that feat.
Heralded sportscaster Verne Lundquist, who is retiring from the CBS football booth after this season, is calling his 41st Tennessee football game -- all at CBS. With Lundquist calling last week's come-from-behind, Hail-Mary-culminating victory over Georgia, the Vols are now 12-28 with him in the booth.
COMEBACK KIDS
In 2016, Tennessee has found itself trailing by double digits in four of its five games. The Vols are 4-0 in those games.
In total, the Vols have erased 65 points worth of deficits this season.
According to ESPN Stats & Information, Tennessee lost two games last season in which its win probability reached at least 90 percent. With last Saturday's comeback win at Georgia, the Volunteers now have three wins this season in which their win probability fell below 10 percent.
