RAIN CANCELS DAY ONE OF THE BELMONT INVITATIONAL

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.
Heavy rains and the threat of flash flooding forced cancellation of Friday's action at the Belmont University Invitational for the Lady Vol softball team. Ralph and Karen Weekly's club (4-4) was supposed to face Lipscomb (2-0) and the host Bruins (0-0) in Nashville as part of the two-day event. The teams will now await Saturday's weather forecast to see what the schedule will hold. UT is slated to make its 2003 Tyson Park debut on Sunday with a double-dip versus Morehead State at 2 p.m.
