- Began the season 5-3 in doubles following a three-match winning streak during the Indiana Regional
- Earned her first wins in singles on the season during the IU Regional, edging Emily Struble of Miami (OH), 6-4, 6-4, and Paula Tormos Sanchez of Marquette, 6-2, 6-1
- Saw limited action during the spring but compiled a solid 5-1 singles record during dual-match play
- Contributed to UT's shutout victories over Indiana, Liberty and Belmont, winning both her singles and doubles matches in all three contests
- Over a span of three matches, Bongart caught fire in singles, dropping only one game in six sets
- Helped UT defeat LSU to wrap up the regular season with a win against Skylar Holloway, 6-3, 6-3, on Court 6

- Won her first collegiate doubles match with fellow freshman Kim Kermet against the duo of Huckleby and Crawford from Iowa in Furman Fall Classic
- Picked up her first win in singles after beating Ellie Yates 6-4, 6-4 from Vanderbilt in the first round of the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regionals
- Advanced to the round of sixteen in singles at the Ohio Valley Regionals in single after defeating Memphis' Marta Morga 4-6, 6-3, 6-4
- Made it to the quarterfinals of the Dick Vitale Clay Court Classic after wins over Florida Gulf Coast's Laura Falsetto and South Florida's Hailey Grillo
- Went 3-0 at the Michigan, winning 6 out of 7 sets
- Ended fall season with a three match winning streak at the Michigan invitational
- Helped the Vols win the doubles point against Wake Forest by winning at No. 2 doubles with Kim Kermet 6-1
- Won her first SEC match in singles with a 6-0, 6-4 victory over Kate Lanier from Kentucky
- Defeated Marija Milutinovic from Ole Miss, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, in the opening round of the SEC Tournament
PRIOR TO TENNESSEE
- Was named a 2015 All-American in her senior season at Lakewood Ranch High School, where she was team captain for three years
- Helped lead her team to an undefeated record and state championship during her senior season
- Also went undefeated in singles in 2015 en route to a state championship
- As a freshman, she won the state title in doubles
- Lettered in both tennis and track & field at Lakewood Ranch High School

- Lists her biggest thrill as winning three state championships in high school
- Her ambitions in tennis are to play at the pro level someday
- Wishes to pursue sports broadcasting after her sports career
- Ashley, daughter of Melissa and Edward Bongart, was born February 14, 1997
- She has one brother, Matthew, who is 20 years old.
