2008-09: Placed fourth in the 1000y free in the near-upset of No. 1 Georgia with a time of 10:00.00...Also swam a season-best time of 4:55.77 in the 500y free versus the Bulldogs...Performances ranked second and third, respectively, for the Lady Vols on the season...Placed first in the 500y free at the Last Chance Meet in Knoxville.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a two-time All-American and named the Most Valuable Swimmer four years in a row at Briarcrest Christian School...Also earned the Coach[apos]s Award and was dubbed the Tennessee Swimmer of the Year...She made the finals in four different events at both the 2006 and 2007 Speedo Junior National Championships...In 2007, she produced Olympic Trials cuts while placing third in the 200m free and fifth in the 400m free...She was also fourth in the 1500m freestyle...Made the Olympic Trials cut in the 800m freestyle at the 2007 ConocoPhillips National Championships.
PERSONAL:Enrolled in the College of Communications with a minor in leadership...Highest athletic ambition is to swim in the Olympics and to help the Lady Vols win a national championship...Daughter of Russ and Sheila Brackens...Has a sister, Ashley, 23, and a brother, Sam, 12...Lindsey Nichole Brackens, daughter of Russ and Sheila Brackens, was born on Aug. 31, 1989, in Roanoke, Va.
