2008-09: Was a member of the fifth-place 800y free relay team at the Southeastern Conference Championships...Also recorded career-bests in the 50y free (23.50) and 200y free (1:48.66), and competed in the 100y free at SECs...Won the 200y free at the Last Chance Meet in Knoxville...Was on the second-place 400y free relay in the near-upset of No. 1 Georgia... Swam leg on victorious 800y free relays at Indiana quad and Tennessee Swimming Invitational...Had a pair of top-three finishes at both the Kentucky and Arkansas/Vanderbilt meets...Was a member of the first-place 400y free relay and finished second in the 100y free versus Louisville...Named to the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll.
HIGH SCHOOL: Holds 10 of 11 swimming records at Fauquier High School...Was an eight-time All-American and eight-time district and regional champion from 2005-08...Captured the state championship and was named team MVP in 2005...As a member of QDD Swim Team she competed at numerous national events, including the 2006 U.S. Open and Junior Nationals in the summers of 2006 and 2007.
PERSONAL: Majoring in accounting...In addition to her athletic achievements, she excelled academically in high school...Earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-America honors as well as the Northwestern District All-Academic Award...Her biggest thrill in swimming was winning the 2007 Ladies Team Virginia Championship title...Has one sister, Stephanie, 23, who swam for Sweet Briar College in Virginia...Caitlin Leigh Perks, daughter of John and Dawn Perks, was born April 27, 1990, in Rochester, N.Y.
