Kimberly Hood joined the Tennessee Athletics Strategic Communications staff as an Assistant Director in April of 2016. She manages Tennessee's football media credentialing process and serves as the primary contact for Tennessee Soccer and the secondary contact for Lady Vols Basketball. She previously served as a the primary contact for Tennessee rowing and managed Neyland Stadium press box operations.
Prior to moving into a full-time role with Tennessee Athletics, Hood served as the Director of Communications for the UT Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation from 2014-2016 and as the Marketing Coordinator for the UT Research Foundation (UTRF) from 2009-2014. In 2010 she took a part-time position in athletics in addition to her role with UTRF, working in Internet Communications where she redesigned and maintained various sites within UTSports.com, created desktop wallpapers and web graphics, provided website support for all home basketball games and the 2010 Women's NCAA Tournament, and served on the Jumbotron crew during home football games. She stayed in that role until accepting her current position in 2016.
Hood holds two degrees from the University of Tennessee, earning a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Electronic Media in 2008 and completing a master's in Sports Management in 2023. She spent the first two years of her undergraduate career at UT Martin where she played soccer for the Skyhawks, earning OVC All-Academic Team honors.
