Bio
One of the best throwers in program history, Stamatia Scarvelis earned a spot on the Greece track & field roster for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the hammer. The 2019 SEC Outdoor Commissioner's Trophy winner owns the program record in the hammer with a distance of 71.33 meters and won the SEC title in the event in 2018 and 2019. She finished inside the top 10 in the event at NCAAs both seasons to earn USTFCCCA Outdoor First Team All-America status.

- Competed in two events at the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational (2/9), including a second-place finish in the weight throw (22.21m/72-10.5) and third in the shot put (15.96m/52-4.5)
- Threw a mark of 21.70m (71-2.5) and placed first at the Hokie Invitational (1/19)
- At the UAB Blazer Invitational (1/11), took second in the weight throw with a mark of 22.54 (73-11.5)

Indoor- At the NCAA Indoor Championships (3/10), placed fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 22.17m (72-9) along with 13th in the shot put, tossing 15.55m (51-0.25)
- Placed third in the weight throw with a mark of 21.20m (69-6.75) and fourth in the shot put with 16.63m (54-6.75) at the SEC Indoor Championships (3/10)
- Won the weight throw (21.33m) and took fourth in the shot put (16.36m) at Clemson's Tiger Paw Invite (2/9)
- At Clemson's Bob Pollock Invitational (1/26), won both the weight throw (21.33m) and the shot put (16.09m)
- At UAB Vulcan Invite, set Tennessee record in the weight throw, tossing 22.27m (73-0.75); also won the shot put with throw of 17.03m
- Opened season at Hoosier Open (12/8), placing second in weight throw (21.05m) and setting a UT program record in the shot put at 17.77m (58-3.75)
- Set a school record in the hammer throw at the NCAA Outdoor Championships (6/7) with a mark of 69.10m and took third overall
- At the SEC Outdoor Championships (5/11), competed in the shot put (17.23m, third), discus (49.49m, sixth) and hammer throw (66.19m, first), setting a personal best in the shot put
- Achieved three straight wins in the hammer throw at the National Relays (65.82m), Tennessee Challenge (67.78m) and SEC Outdoor Championships (66.19m)
2017 TRACK & FIELD
Indoor- Took 10th place at the NCAA Indoor Championship with the second best weight throw of the season at 20.50m (67-3.25)
- Set the school record in the weight throw and the Greek national record as she placed third at the SEC Championship with a mark of 21.49m, also set a personal best and finished fifth in the shot put with a mark of 16.37m
- Finished third in the weight throw and second in the shot put at the VT "Doc Hale" Elite Meet
- Recorded a weight throw of 20.24m (66-5) at the Razorback Invitational
- Recorded a weight throw of 19.73m (64-8.75) at the Commodore Invitational
- Notched the sixth best shot put in Tennessee program history with a 16.31m (53-6.25) toss at the Commodore Invitational
- Set two personal bests in the shot put and the weight throw at the Commodore Invitational
- Picked up a pair of event victories with a weight throw of 19.05m and a shot put of 16.03m at the Indiana-Tennessee Dual
- Posted a weight throw of 18.89m (61-11.75) at the Hoosier Open.
- Also took the ninth spot on the school's all-time top 10 in the shot put with a throw of 15.21m (49-11) at the Hoosier Open.
- Recorded three fouls in the hammer throw at the NCAA Championship, but was named Honorable Mention All-America
- Qualified for the NCAA Championship in the hammer as she had a throw of 60.48m to finish seventh despite rainy conditions at the NCAA East Prelims
- Scored 13 points at the SEC Outdoor Championship as she took second place in the hammer throw (63.79m) and fourth place in the shot put (16.25m)
- Posted a school record in the hammer throw for the third time in 2017 with a toss of 65.26m to win the competition at the SEC Relays while also setting a personal record in the discus (54.07m, 3rd) and a season best in the shot put (16.56m, 4th)
- Notched an event win in the hammer throw (63.62m) and a second place finish in the shot put (16.20m) at the USC Open
- Posted top-five finishes in the shot put and the hammer at the 2017 Tennessee Relays
- Set the school record in the hammer throw for the second time this year with a throw of 64.86m at the Florida Relays
- Set a school record and finished in first place in the hammer throw with a mark of 61.30 while also taking second place in both the discus and the shot put with marks of 51.98m and 16.18m

- Has two brothers named Steven and Nicholas who both were collegiate track and field athletes. Nicolas represented Greece in the shot put at the Rio Olympics.
