Tennessee men's golf head coach Brennan Webb announced Thursday, Sept. 19, the promotion of Bo Andrews to associate head coach.
Entering his seventh season with the Tennessee men's golf program in 2024-25, Bo Andrews joined head coach Brennan Webb's staff on July 24, 2018—shortly after Webb was tabbed to head up the Vols' program.
In six full seasons as assistant coach with the Vols, Andrews has been part of 11 team tournament titles, and helped guide Vol golfers to nine individual tournament titles, 11 All-SEC selections and seven All-America honors.
In back-to-back years (2023 & 2024), Andrews was named a finalist for the Jan Strickland Outstanding Assistant Coach Award, which is presented annually to the top assistant coach in college golf.
Tennessee has qualified for match play at the SEC Championships and NCAA Regionals in each of Andrews' six seasons with the program, as well as making appearances at the NCAA Championships in 2021 and 2024.
Andrews aided in UT’s successful 2023-24 season that featured the program’s first team top-10 NCAA Championships finish since 1981.
During the 2023-24 season, the Vols captured a program-record-tying three team titles, and registered eight top-four team finishes. Additionally, the Big Orange earned their first ever No. 1 NCAA Regional seed while boasting an overall record of 143-35-1.
Tennessee capped off its season with a No. 7 overall national ranking and saw Bryce Lewis, Jake Hall and Evan Woosley-Reed earn All-America Honorable mention selections. This marks the first time in a single season in program history for three golfers to be tabbed All-Americans.
The trio also earned PING All-Southeast Region Honors following their consistent seasons.
Lewis, Hall and Bruce Murphy were all Tennessee golfers to earn SEC Awards during Andrews' sixth season clad in orange. The redshirt senior duo of Lewis and Hall took home All-SEC honors and Murphy was slated to the SEC All-Freshman team.
Andrews, along with the rest of UT’s coaching staff, played an influential part in Lewis’ electric senior campaign that ultimately ended with him being the first Vol golfer to earn PGA TOUR Americas status through PGA TOUR University.
Andrews, who played collegiately at national power Georgia Tech, served as a volunteer assistant for the Yellow Jackets from August of 2015 until being hired at Tennessee in the summer of 2018.
“I could not be more thrilled that Bo is joining our program as the assistant coach,” Webb said upon Andrews' hiring. “His experience playing at the highest levels of collegiate and professional golf will be extremely beneficial to our team. He is one of the most positive, hard-working and personable people I’ve met and will be a wonderful role model for our current and future Vols.
“Bo understands the level of work and the sacrifices that need to be made to have a college team compete for conference and NCAA championships. He is excited to get started working toward achieving those goals at Tennessee.”
A native of Raleigh, N.C., and a graduate of Ravenscroft High School, Andrews was a 2012 All-ACC performer and a three-time GCAA All-Region selection in college. He was a member of Georgia Tech conference championship teams in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014 and posted 11 top-10 finishes during his career, including two top-five efforts and a victory at the 2013 Gary Koch Invitational.
Andrews graduated from Tech with high honors in May of 2014 with a bachelor's degree in business management. He was a five-time selection to the ACC Academic Honor Roll, three-time selection to the ACC All-Academic Team, twice named a GCAA All-America Scholar and recipient of an NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship.
During his time with the Jackets, Andrews’ overall impact as a student-athlete was recognized via his acceptance of the 2014 Homer Rice Total Person Award and the 2012 Bobby Dodd Award.
Since 2015, Andrews has played professional events on the eGolf, Swingthought, GPro, PGA Latinoamérica and Web.com Tours.
