HIGH SCHOOL
- Tabbed as four-star recruit by ESPN, as well as a four-star prospect by 247Sports, On3 and Rivals.
- Finished No. 144 in the 247Sports Composite rankings, as well as No. 148 on the On3 Consensus list, the latter good for first among Alabamians and No. 20 at the center position.
- Spent the final year of his prep career at Link Academy, where he played alongside eventual Tennessee teammates Cameron Carr and Ben Linnemeyer.
- Averaged 10.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, helping the team go 27-1, win the GEICO Nationals championship and finish No. 1 in both the ESPN and MaxPreps national rankings.
- Attended Jacksonville High School during his junior campaign, averaging 13.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game, while shooting 57.0 percent from the floor.
- Totaled 109 blocked shots in 24 games as a junior, including 11 in the regional final, en route to ASWA 4A All-State recognition.

- Born Aug. 16, 2004, in Birmingham, Ala.
- Parents are John David Phillips, who works in the steel industry, and Reagan Phillips, who has her own psychology clinic.
- Father played quarterback and defensive back at Alabama, appearing in 17 games from 1996-98, with Tennessee finishing second in his recruitment.
- Mother, then Reagan Croyle, played basketball from 1996-99 at Alabama, where she was also the homecoming queen.
- Has two younger brothers, Will and Gibbs.
- Grew up on Big Oak Ranch, a large Christian home for children run by members of his family, in both Springville, Ala., and Southside, Ala.
- Grandfather, John Croyle, was an All-American defensive lineman under Paul “Bear” Bryant at Alabama.
- Uncle, Brodie Croyle, played quarterback at Alabama and was a 2006 NFL Draft third-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs, for whom he competed with for five years.
- Majoring in finance.
- Interests outside of basketball include camping with teammates and adventure activities such as cliff jumping and rock climbing.
