- His 39th career home run—a solo bomb in the fifth inning against Notre Dame in game two of the Knoxville Super Regional (6/11)—moved him out of a tie with the legendary Todd Helton and made him Tennessee's all-time home runs leader (however, teammate Luc Lipcius tied Russell's record with his 39th career homer later that same inning).

- Threw out two baserunners during the SEC Tournament, including one in the championship game against Florida (5/29)
