May 08, 2026 | Rowing
OAK RIDGE, Tenn. -- The No. 3 Tennessee rowing team returns to the waters of Melton Hill Lake for the SEC Rowing Championships on Sunday, May 10. This marks the second rowing conference championship ever for the SEC, and the second to be hosted in Oak Ridge.
Â
All six championship races will follow a finals only format, with one boat for each school entered in each event. Racing begins at 9:05 a.m. ET with each race beginning in 15-minute intervals. The final race of the day will begin at 10:20 a.m. and will be followed by the awards ceremony at 10:50 a.m.
Â
At last year's SEC championships, the Lady Vols won three gold medals, with wins in the 2V8, 3V8, and 3V4.
Â
The Oak Ridge Rowing Association will once again serve as the host site for the SEC Championships, after hosting the inaugural conference championship last year. Attendance is free for all fans, while parking and quick access to the shoreline can be found at the Oak Ridge Rowing Association (697 Melton Lake, Dr., Oak Ridge, TN 37830). This will be the third time that Tennessee has raced on Melton Hill Lake, after hosting Stanford on March 28 and The Rocky Top Invite April 3-4.
Â
Each race will be a 2,000-meter sprint, with teams accumulating points across all six events to determine the overall conference champion. All race results can be found on HereNow.com, while the championship event will be streamed on SECNetwork+.
