#16 Lady Vols Set for ITA Kickoff Weekend
January 22, 2026 | Women's Tennis
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee women's tennis team is set to host two opponents at the Goodfriend Tennis Center this weekend as part of ITA's Kickoff Weekend. Tennessee will now participate in just one match, slated for Saturday, Jan. 24 at noon.
"We're excited to host ITA Kickoff Weekend," Tennessee head women's tennis coach Alison Ojeda said. "This is a credit to last year's team, because they are the reason we are in a position to be able to have two great teams in our building competing this weekend."
Knoxville will serve as one of 14 host sites for Kickoff Weekend. One team from each site will earn the right to compete in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, hosted in Champaign, Ill. and Chicago, Ill.
"We are very excited to be hosting kickoff again this year," Lady Vol senior Catherine Aulia said. "We have two tough teams coming, so it's a great way to start the season. We can't wait to showcase all the hard work we have been putting in. Our team is ready to go out there with a lot of energy and battle!"
Tennessee, originally slated to face Clemson in the weekend's first match, will now receive a bye and compete only once, facing the winner of Friday's match between Clemson and Pepperdine. The University of Washington will no longer participate in the Kickoff Weekend.
