June 18, 2025 | Men's Tennis
Highly-regarded South Korean tennis standout Woohyuk Chang has signed with the Tennessee men's tennis team and will be a member of the squad for the 2025-26 season, head coach Chris Woodruff announced Thursday.
Chang, who has a UTR best of 12.68, climbed to as high as No. 50 in the ITF Junior Rankings. He has three singles titles to his credit, including one J300 and two J50 tournaments, and earned a J50 doubles crown as well.
Â
"Woohyuk has been one of the elite juniors in the world, winning J300 and being ranked inside the top 50 of all junior players," associate head coach Matt Lucas said. "His journey to college is unique, but we know his capabilities and are excited about what he will add to our program.
"His game will flourish in our development plan, and we look forward to seeing it through on his progression toward professional tennis. He's a bright young guy, and we can't wait for him to arrive in the fall."
Â
Chang joins Anas Bennour Dit Sahli (Tunis, Tunisia), Shion Itsusaki (Osaka, Japan), Ethan Muza (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baylor), Piotr Siekanowicz (Wroclaw, Poland/Delaware) and Boruch Skierkier (Clorinda, Argentina/Valdosta State) in the 2025 signing class.
