CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico. - The Tennessee men's golf team concluded the Cabo Collegiate with a fifth-place showing inside a strong field on Tuesday as three golfers finished inside the top 25.
As a team, the Vols shot a final-round 283 (-1) to climb one spot up the leaderboard to secure the top-five finish. UT's third round score tied for the second-best team score on Tuesday.
Evan Woosley-Reed was Tennessee's highest finisher for the event, tying for 11th place after shooting 1-under overall. After starting the tournament over-par, Woosley-Reed kicked it into gear in round two with a 67 and capped it off with a 69 to finish in red numbers.
Lance Simpson finished inside the top 15 and just two shots back of Woosley-Reed. The redshirt junior closed out with two rounds of par or better, including a 2-under 69 in Tuesday's round. Simpson now has four top-15 outings in just six tournaments this season.
Senior Laurent Desmarchais logged a top-25 at the Cabo Collegiate for consecutive seasons. Desmarchais shot 4-over for the tournament to tie for 22nd.
Junior Josh Hill concluded the tournament at 52nd as Pearce Lewin, who competed individually, tied for 54th.
The final member of the lineup, Jackson Herrington, finished tied for 68th.
UP NEXT: The Vols will head to the Pauma Valley Invitational for their third tournament of the spring, which takes place from March 17-18.
