Vols Tied For Third After Day One At Pauma Valley Invitational

PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. – The Tennessee men's golf team is tied for third place after day one at the Pauma Valley Invitational.
After completing round one and approximately 15 holes in round two, second-round play was suspended due to darkness. Round two will resume at 10:30 am ET Tuesday morning, followed by round three with a repairing shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. ET.
The Vols opened the tournament with a 9-under 275 in the first and are currently 3-over in round two. Â
As a team, UT led the field in par-4 scoring on day one with a 3.94 average (-6) and also made 29 total birdies in the process.
Lance Simpson, Josh Hill and Jackson Herrington each enter Tuesday round tied for 11th place at 2-under overall.
The trio posted 69s in round one and each sit even-par in round two at 2-under overall.
Evan Woosley-Reed enters day two at even-par overall and tied for 26th with two holes remaining in round two. The junior paced the Vols in round one after carding a 3-under 68.
Christian Pardue, who is competing as an individual, also is tied for 26th ahead of the final day. The freshman fired a 70 in round one and is 1-over through 13 holes in round two.
Laurent Desmarchais shot a 72 to open the event and sits 5-over in total with four holes remaining in round two.
