PALM CITY, Fla. - The No. 22 Tennessee men's golf team is set to compete in its fourth event of the spring, taking part in the Valspar Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Houston.
The tournament consists of three total rounds—36 holes of play on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
The event is set to be played at Floridian National Golf Club. The par-71, 6,943-yard course provides scenic views, challenging bunkers and a crafty layout.
According Scoreboard (powered by Clippd) rankings, 11 of the top 25 teams are in the 16-team field. Â
Last time out, the Vols posted a promising performance at the Pauma Valley Invitational, logging a fifth-place finish that included wins over three top-six teams. Additionally, three Vols placed inside the top-25.
THE VOLS' LINEUP
Lance Simpson
Simpson was Tennessee's highest finisher for the fourth time this season after tying for 11th at the Pauma Valley Invitational with a 4-under performance. The redshirt junior now holds 18 rounds of par or better and six top-25 finishes this season.
Laurent Desmarchais
The senior makes his third consecutive lineup appearance and currently holds a 72.85 season stroke average, along with four top-25 finishes.
Jackson Herrington
The freshman was the Vols' second-highest finisher in Pauma Valley after tying for 19th with a three-round 1-under total. The Dickson, Tennessee, native provided three contributing rounds for the Vols that included an opening-round 69 and third-round 71.Â
Josh Hill
Hill was Tennessee's final top-25 finisher after shooting even-par for the event. The junior carded a final-round 70 in route to securing his fourth top-25 showing of the 2024-25 season.Â
Evan Woosley-Reed
Woosley-Reed enters the Valspar Collegiate with a 71.14 season stroke average and three top-25 finishes.
