Vols Finish Fifth At Pauma Valley Invitational

PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. - The Tennessee men's golf team placed fifth inside a loaded field at the Pauma Valley Invitational.
The Vols shot 5-under overall through 54-holes, including a 1-under showing in the final round.
Lance Simpson led the way for the Vols, shooting 4-under overall to tie for 11th. Simpson shot par or lower in all three rounds, including a pair of 69s in rounds one and three. The redshirt junior now holds 18 rounds of par or lower and six top-15 finishes this season. Additionally, the Knoxville native has been Tennessee's highest finisher in four tournaments this season.
Freshman Jackson Herrington was the Vols' second-highest finisher after tying for 19th with a three-round 1-under total. The Dickson, Tennessee, native provided three contributing rounds for the Vols that included an opening-round 69 and third-round 71.
Josh Hill was Tennessee's final top-25 finisher after shooting even-par for the event. The junior carded a final-round 70 en route to securing his fourth top-25 showing of the 2024-25 season.
Evan Woosley-Reed capped off the Pauma Valley Invitational in 30th place. The junior's lowest round of the tournament came in round one when he carded a 3-under 68.
Freshman Christian Pardue, who was competing as an individual, tied for 39th with a 4-over total that involved a first-round 70.
Tennessee's final member of the lineup, Laurent Desmarchais, tied for 56th at 8-over.
UP NEXT: The Vols will tee it up in the Valspar Collegiate in Palm City, Florida, for their fourth tournament of the spring, which runs from March 24-25.
