Track Central: Virginia Tech Challenge/Alex Wilson Invitational

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee track & field program rounds out the 2024-25 indoor regular season this weekend with a pair of specialized event groups competing at two meets. The Vol and Lady Vol pole vault squads will return to Blacksburg, Virginia, Friday and Saturday for the Virginia Tech Challenge, while a women's distance medley relay squad is set to travel to South Bend, Indiana, for the Alex Wilson Invitational.
Friday's action begins at 4 p.m. with the women's seeded pole vault and will conclude at 7 p.m. with the men's seeded pole vault. The unseeded sections of the event are scheduled for 11 a.m. (women) and 1:15 p.m. (men) on Saturday at Virginia Tech's Rector Fieldhouse.
Kylie Feeney, Kaniya Johnson, Ka'Myya Haywood and Jaylee Wingate will make Tennessee's season debut in the DMR at Notre Dame. The event will start at 12:30 p.m.
Live results from Virginia Tech will be provided via Flash Results, while live results from Notre Dame will be provided via Endurance Race Timing.
TENNESSEE IN THE RANKINGS: In the most recent installment of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national track & field rating index, the Lady Vols checked in at No. 16 in the country in Tuesday's rankings update.
Additionally, Tennessee holds 10 individual and relay marks that rank top-16 on the NCAA Division I Indoor qualifying list as of Feb. 20.
