October 08, 2025 | Soccer
NORMAN, Okla. - The No. 3/4 Tennessee soccer team heads to Oklahoma to face the Sooners in a Thursday night matchup at John Crain Field.
Kickoff is set for 8 pm ET. The match can be streamed on SEC Network with Mike Watts and Jill Loyden on the call.
The Lady Vols (11-1-1) enter the thick of SEC play riding a five-game winning streak, including a home win over ranked Georgia and a 4-1 road victory at Ole Miss last week. With four regular-season games remaining, Tennessee sits second in the conference standings.Â
Tennessee and Oklahoma will meet for the fourth time in program history on Thursday, marking their first matchup in more than 12 years—and the first since the Sooners joined the SEC. The Lady Vols lead the all-time series 3-0, outscoring Oklahoma 7-1 across three matches. The two teams first met in the opening round of the 2003 NCAA Tournament, where UT eliminated the Sooners.
Last time out, Tennessee netted four unanswered goals in a road win at Ole Miss, with scores from Jenna Stayart, Alivia Stott, Mac Midgley and Luciana Latino. Midgley tallied her first goal of the season, while Latino recorded the first of her career. They became the 11th and 12th different Lady Vols to score this season. Â
STAYART STANDS OUT: Redshirt senior Jenna Stayart has emerged as a key contributor for Tennessee, leading the team in total points with five goals and three assists—both career highs. She has started all 13 matches this season and netted two game-winners while controlling the midfield. Stayart's strong play has anchored a Lady Vols squad boasting a +27 goal differential. Â
FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS: Through 13 matches, UT has 12 goal-scorers, including four Lady Vols who have scored two or more goals in a single match. In total, 16 Lady Vols have recorded at least one assist this season, the most in the SEC.
NO WAY PAST NORRIS: Sophomore goalkeeper Cayden Norris has been a dominant presence in goal for Tennessee, earning a spot on the Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List—an honor recognizing the nation's top player, as voted on by Division I coaches. Norris was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week to open the season and has since allowed just five goals in 12 starts. She leads the SEC with eight shutouts and a 0.42 goals-against average.
SCOUTING THE SOONERS: Oklahoma (9-3-2) enters the matchup ranked 10th in the SEC standings but went unbeaten in non-conference play. Senior goalkeeper Caroline Duffy was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after recording eight saves and allowing just one goal—a penalty kick—in a win and a draw last week, including a 3-1 victory at Alabama. Sophomore Kayla Keefer leads the SEC with eight assists, while junior Naomi Clark ranks in the top 10 in both goals and total points. As a team, the Sooners lead the league in assists and total points and are tied for first in goals.
UP NEXT:Â The Lady Vols have the upcoming weekend off before returning to action on Thursday, Oct. 16, when they host Florida at Regal Soccer Stadium at 7 pm ET.
