Five Lady Vols Tabbed CSC Academic All-District

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – McKenna Gibson, Payton Gottshall, Giulia Koutsoyanopulos, Kiki Milloy and Karlyn Pickens have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
The CSC recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
A junior infielder from Santa Clarita, California, Gibson earns her second Academic All-District nod – she was named an Academic All-American Third Team member in 2023. Majoring in sociology with a concentration in criminology and criminal justice, she is also working towards a minor in psychology.
One of Tennessee's most consistent players on the field, the third baseman hit .339 in 55 games this season with an OPS of .918. Gibson tied for the team lead in hits at 59 while leading the squad with 41 RBIs.
A graduate pitcher, Gottshall spent the past two seasons on Rocky Top after transferring from Bowling Green. Pursuing a Master's of Science in education with a concentration in special education, this marks her first CSC Academic All-District recognition.
On the field, Gottshall was named an NFCA First Team All-American after posting a 20-5 record with a 1.37 ERA, 164 strikeouts, three saves and a .180 batting average against.
Koutsoyanopulos is a two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree with the Big Orange. The defensive specialist graduated from Arizona in just two years before transferring to Tennessee. She graduated from UT in May with a Master's in English with a concentration in literature, criticism and textual studies.
A Mission, Viejo, California, native, Koutsoyanopulos split time between first base and playing behind the plate this season. Appearing in 54 games, she hit .262 with 22 runs scored, three home runs and 16 runs batted in. With 371 chances, she recorded 357 putouts with 14 assists and no errors.
A two-time CSC Academic All-American, Milloy earned her third all-district honor from the organization. A graduate student pursuing a Master's in business administration, the Woodinville, Washington, native holds a bachelor's degree from Tennessee in neuroscience.
UT's all-time leader in home runs, Milloy hit .347 for the Lady Vols this season – scoring a team-leading 64 runs with 13 homers.
One of the nation's top pitchers, Pickens adds CSC Academic All-District honors to her growing list of accolades. A sophomore from Weaverville, North Carolina, she is majoring in sport management with a minor in business administration.
Pickens was a consensus first-team All-American after finishing the 2024 season with a 22-7 record and a 1.12 ERA. The right-hander had 225 strikeouts over 188.1 innings pitched, tossing 15 complete games and 12 shutouts.
