SARASOTA, Fla. – The fifth-ranked Tennessee rowing team begins postseason action at the 2024 Big 12 Championships Sunday morning at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida.

Tennessee will have three eights boats—1V8, 2V8, 3V8—and three fours crews—1V4, 2V4, 3V4—race at the event.

In Tennessee's two biggest regattas—the Big Ten Invitational and the Lake Wheeler Invitational—this spring, it logged an eye-opening 29 race wins in 30 races.

The Big 12 Championships mark the second time the Lady Vols have competed at Nathan Benderson Park this season, also competing in Sarasota at the Big Ten Invitational in April. Overall, Tennessee won 14 of the 15 races in which it had a boat competing in that weekend. At the Lake Wheeler Invitational the following weekend, Tennessee won each of its 15 races.

In all, Tennessee's 1V8+ (26-0), 2V8+ (27-0), 1V4 (25-1) and 2V4 (23-0) crews combine for an outstanding 101-1 record this season. Additionally, UT's 3V8 crew boasts a record of 21-1 this spring.

In addition to No. 5 Tennessee, the Big 12 Championships will feature No. 1 Texas, No. 19 Alabama, UCF, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma and West Virginia.

The eight teams will compete in 2,000 meter sprint races. The winner of the finals-only championship event will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Rowing Championship, which will take place May 31-June 2 on the East Fork/Harsha Lake in Bethel, Ohio.
