#15 Tennessee Posts Strong Effort at Percy Priest Sprints

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The 15th-ranked Tennessee rowing team competed at the Percy Priest Sprints at Hamilton Creek Park in Nashville Saturday and logged several strong performances.

Seven Tennessee crews were featured on the day, with UT racing its 3V4+, 4V4+, 5V4+ and 6V4+ boats in the Collegiate Varsity 4+ event and its 4V8+, 5V8+ and 6V8+ in the Collegiate Varsity 8+ event.

The afternoon race highlighted Tennessee's showing in the state's capital, as its fours group swept the Varsity 4+ grand final. Lauren Reboul coxed Tennessee's 3V4+ crew—Tiara Dye, Sofia Sferra, Megan Czarnecki and Grace Wolfenbarger—to the race win with a time of 8:08.579. Crossing the line second with a time of 8:12.549 was the Lady Vols' 6V4+ crew, composed of Scarlett McConville (coxswain), Hannah Offutt, Abigail Benjamin, Darrah Ramsey and Emersen Head.
Placing third in that event was Tennessee's 5V4+ crew of coxswain Mairin Curley, Allison Gerdes, Bernadette Lombardi, Katie Fitzgerald and Madeline Becker, crossing the line in 8:15.703. In fourth place, polishing off Tennessee's sweep, was its 4V4+ boat. Marissa Garcia (coxswain), Casey Lenihan, Izzy Allen, Grace Rickman and Chatham Ibach recorded a time of 8:16.973.

The Varsity 8+ final saw Tennessee crews place second, third and fourth, with the Lady Vols' sixth and fourth varsity eights finishing on the podium. Marissa Garcia coxed the 6V8+ crew—Madison Solano, Hannah Veenendaal, Addie Drevlow, Bridget Boyle, Madelynn Long, Sarah Masters, Tillie McQuigg and Sayler Reynolds—to a second-place finish with a time of 7:38.950.

Placing third in the Varsity 8+ final was UT's 4V8+ crew of Lauren Reboul (coxswain), Tiara Dye, Sofia Sferra, Megan Czarnecki, Grace Wolfenbarger, Grace Rickman, Izzy Allen, Casey Lenihan and Chatham Ibach, with a finish time of 7:39.439.

Tennessee's 6V4+ (8:43.601) and 3V4+ (8:55.144) crews swept the morning's Varsity 4+ heat, while the Lady Vols' 4V4+ (8:51.419) and 5V4+ (9:04.852) boats swept the ensuing heat early Saturday morning.
