Cupini Announces 2026 Rowing Slate
December 11, 2025 | Rowing
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee rowing head coach Kim Cupini announced the team's 2026 schedule on Thursday.
Tennessee is coming off its second consecutive top five finish at the NCAA Championships. The fifth place finish in 2025 secured the most successful two year run in program history, after the team placed third nationally at the 2024 NCAA Championships. The Lady Vols also placed second at the inaugural SEC Championships in 2025.
The 2026 slate begins on March 14, as Tennessee hosts Michigan in Knoxville.
Tennessee follows its season opener as its hosts defending national champion Stanford on March 28. The two programs met last season at Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Stanford won all four races in last season's match-up.
The Lady Vols are then back on the water in Oak Ridge, as they host the second annual Rocky Top Invite. The Big Orange will host some of the country's best teams, with the likes of Penn, Duke, Clemson, Minnesota, USC, UCLA, Alabama, and Iowa visiting the Volunteer State. Last season, Tennessee won the first-ever Rocky Top Invite and swept all seven races.
Following a two week break, Tennessee heads on the road for its final race of the regular season in Princeton, New Jersey to face Princeton, Yale, and Virginia. All four teams in the field finished in the top 10 at the 2025 NCAA Championships.
On May 10, Tennessee will host the SEC Championships for the second year in a row. At last season's SEC Championships, the Lady Vols secured three gold medals en route to their second place finish.
The postseason calendar closes at the 2026 NCAA Championships. This year's championships will be held in Gainesville, Georgia at the Lake Lanier Olympic Olympic Park from May 29-31.
