Race Central: Percy Priest Sprints

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The 15th-ranked Tennessee rowing team is back in action Saturday at the Percy Priest Sprints, set to take place at Hamilton Creek Park in Nashville.
The event, hosted by Nashville Rowing Club, will feature seven Tennessee crews. The first heats begin shortly after 8 a.m. ET Saturday.

In the Collegiate Varsity 4+ event, the Lady Vols will race their 3V4+, 4V4+, 5V4+ and 6V4+ crews (heats and finals). The Collegiate Varsity 8+ event will feature Tennessee's 4V8+, 5V8+ and 6V8+ boats (finals only).

Tennessee will be joined in the state capital by Vanderbilt, High Point, Murray State, Tulane, Washington University in St. Louis and Wheaton College.

Last Friday in a season-opening home dual in Oak Ridge versus Minnesota, a Tennessee boat was victorious in each of four races, with the 1V8+, 1V4+, 2V8+ and 2V4+ crews picking up wins on the day.
In the 2V8+ and 3V8+ race, the Lady Vols placed first and second in the three-boat race. Elizabeth Walley coxed the 2V8+ crew to a 6:30.7 finish, while UT's third varsity eight impressively finished ahead of Minnesota's 2V8+ crew in that race. The Lady Vols' 2V4+ crew also logged a race win Friday evening.
