Trio of Lady Vols Earn All-SEC Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - A trio of Lady Vols earned All-SEC honors, the league office announced Sunday.
Juniors Ally Brown and Mac Midgley were named Third Team All-SEC selections as Reese Mattern was slated to the SEC All-Freshman Team.
Ally Brown | D | Junior | Third Team All-SEC
Brown has been a consistent force for the Lady Vols this season. The College Grove, Tennessee, native leads the team in minutes played (1,519) and anchored the backline to seven shutouts on the season, six of which came consecutively. Additionally, she has also notched a goal and two assists as a center back.
Mac Midgley | M | Third Team All-SEC
Midgley currently co-leads the squad in goals with four, with two of those being game-winners. The Wolverine Lake, Michigan, native has also started in all 17 matches and put up nine points on the season. Midgely's most recent goal came in the 88th minute against South Carolina when she successfully converted a penalty kick to secure a point for UT.
Reese Mattern | F | SEC All-Freshman Team
The Charlottesville, Virginia, native has made an impact in her first season on Rocky Top, starting in all 17 matches while producing a team-high three assists and scoring two goals. Mattern has also tallied 25 shots with 14 coming on goal.
