KNOXVILLE – Five Volunteers are back in action for the Tennessee men's tennis team beginning this weekend, as the UTR Pro Tour is slated to run Aug. 27-Sept. 2 at Goodfriend Tennis Center.
Tennessee graduate Angel Diaz, juniors Shunsuke Mitsui and Chris Li and freshmen James Newton and Filip Apltauer are set to compete in the week-long event.
About UTR Pro Tennis Tour
The 20-person main draw will consist of four groups of five players each. The round-robin group stages will run from Sunday to Thursday. All matches will be best-of-three tie break sets with regular scoring. The Playoff Rounds will be single elimination and consist of five draws of four players depending on the player's group finishing (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th) and will run from Friday to Saturday. All matches will be best-of-three tie break sets with regular scoring.
