Rogers Named 2023 CSC Academic All-American of the Year, Milloy and Gibson Tabbed First and Third Team

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – On Tuesday, the College Sports Communicators announced its 2023 Softball Academic All-America Teams – headlined by Ashley Rogers being named the Division I Academic All-American of the Year. Senior Kiki Milloy was named to the Academic All-America First Team, while sophomore McKenna Gibson was tabbed for the third team.
Rogers is a kinesiology graduate student from Athens, Tennessee, with a 4.0 undergraduate and 3.96 graduate GPA and a three-time All-Southeastern Conference first-team selection. Rogers was selected as the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was instrumental in leading the Lady Vols to an SEC regular season and tournament title. She also guided UT back to the Women's College World Series for the first time in eight years.
The righty finished 2023 with a 20-1 record – the third 20-win season of her career. Rogers posted a 0.92 ERA in 144 innings pitched with 179 strikeouts and 47 walks. She had 13 complete games and six shutouts.
Rogers is the fourth Lady Vol softball player named CSC Academic All-American of the Year, joining Lindsay Schutzler, Raven Chavanne and Ellen Renfroe.
Milloy was named to the first team after a stellar senior season – earning her second Academic All-America certificate after picking up second-team honors in 2022. The outfielder started all 61 games for the Lady Vols and hit a career-best and single-season school record 25 home runs. She finished the year with a .406 average and a 1.483 OPS and 40 stolen bases.
The Woodinville, Washington, native is just as strong in the classroom, touting a 3.65 GPA in neuroscience with three SEC Academic Honor Roll distinctions.
Gibson earns her first career Academic All-America certificate after a breakout sophomore campaign. The Santa Clarita, California, native started every game this season for the Lady Vols and ended the year with a .362 batting average, a 1.232 OPS, 15 home runs and tied for the team lead in RBIs with 60.
The first baseman carries a 3.60 GPA in sociology with a concentration in criminology and criminal justice and a minor in psychology.
