Race Central: Big 12 Championship

AUSTIN, Texas – Tennessee rowing is set to begin the 2023 Big 12 Rowing Championship on Sunday morning at Walter E. Long Lake.

The Lady Vols will hit the water with five boats, fielding three eights and two fours throughout the championship. Fan can stream the races live beginning at 10:15 a.m. ET on Big 12 Now on ESPN+. Live results will also be posted on HereNOW.

The winner of the finals-only championship event will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Rowing Championship which will take place May 26-28 on the Cooper River in Camden County, N.J. In addition to RV Tennessee, the Big 12 Championship will feature No. 2 Texas, RV Alabama, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma and West Virginia.

The seven teams will compete in a 2000m sprint race. Three events will be scored to determine the automatic qualifier from the Big 12 Conference. The most points will be awarded for the results in the 1V8 followed by the 2V8 and the 1V4.
