After previously exhausting their indoor eligibility, Lady Vol super seniors Uchechi Nwogwugwu and Nicole Sreenan will officially open their 2023 campaigns this weekend in the 200- and 400-meter dashes at NC State.

INDOOR RECAP: Head coach Duane Ross leads his program into outdoor season after a successful indoor campaign that saw the Big Orange post a pair of top-11 finishes at the NCAA Championships. The Lady Vols tied for 7th at the national meet with 24 points, while the men of UT were 11th with 18 points.

Dylan Jacobs shined for the men at the national championships, collecting his second career NCAA title with a win in the 5k and coming back to place 6th in the 3k. His mark of 13:37.59 in the 5,000-meter was the fastest clocking at altitude in collegiate history. Charisma Taylor stood out for the Lady Vols, becoming the 13th athlete in NCAA history to score in three individual events at the indoor national championships with top-8 finishes in the triple jump (2nd), 60-meter hurdles (3rd) and long jump (5th).

Tennessee's women and men finished third and fifth, respectively, at the SEC Championships while collecting 10 medals, highlighted by conference titles for Jacobs in the men's 3k (7:52.49), Jacious Sears in the women's 60m (7.11) and the Tennessee men's DMR (9:32.75).

Nine school records fell over the course of the 2022-23 indoor season, including four marks that rank among the all-time top three performances in collegiate history. Taylor's lifetime-best triple jump of 14.88m (48-10) at the NCAA Championships also established the Nassau, Bahamas, native as the No. 2 all-time performer in the women's collegiate ranks.
