Women's Golf Central: ICON Invitational

HUMBLE, Texas — Tennessee's women's golf team is back in action this week, taking part in the ICON Invitational at the Golf Club of Houston, running Feb. 27-28.
The 16-team field will compete in a two-day, 54-hole event, with the opening two rounds scheduled for Monday, followed by round three on Tuesday.
Last season, the Lady Vols tied for seventh place at the ICON Invitational, notching a 54-hole score of 869 (+5). LVFL Mikayla Bardwell recorded a top-10 finish (T6), carding three under-par rounds (71-70-68) to shoot -7 overall (209).
LADY VOLS' LINEUP
Angela Arora
Arora made her collegiate debut in the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara Country Club earlier this month, notching a top-10 finish (T10) at +6 overall. Previous to Tennessee, the freshman recorded a first-place finish at the NextGen Pacific Championship and was runner-up at the PNGA Women's Amateur Championship in 2022.
Manassanan Chotikabhukkana
Chotikabhukkana recorded the third top-25 finish of her young career at the CIGCC, finishing tied for 13th place at +7 overall. The freshman carded two par or better rounds (71-72), putting her season total at nine. The Bangkok, Thailand, native leads the team in stroke average (72.61) and rounds of par or better (9) this season.
Vanessa Gilly
Gilly shot +12 overall at the CIGCC, tying for 28th place out of the 62-player field. In the fall, the junior totaled a 72.67 stroke average and recorded two top-25 finishes. Gilly notched the second-best finish of her Tennessee career at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational in October, where she shot +1 to tie for 12th place.
Kayla Holden
Holden tied for 53rd place at the CIGCC, tallying a 54-hole score of 236 (+20). In the fall, the junior competed in all five tournaments, recording a 73.13 stroke average. Holden's best performance this year came from a top-25 finish (T23) at the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah in October, where she shot -4 overall.
Caroline Patterson
Rounding out the lineup is Patterson, who is making her spring debut with Tennessee. The freshman appeared in all five tournaments in the fall, notching a 74.07 stroke average. Patterson's best performance was at the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah, where she shot -5 overall to tie for 19th place, the first top-25 finish of her career.
*Emily Hawkins
Hawkins, who will be competing as an individual this week, appeared in one tournmant last fall. The graduate student finished tied for 64th (+16) at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate in September.

This year, the individual winner of the ICON Invitational will receive a playing spot in the Chevron Championship Official Pro-Am on April 18. The Chevron Championship, the first LPGA Tour Major of the season, will take place at The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas, on April 20-23.
