Lady Vol Trio Picks Up NFCA All-Region Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced Thursday afternoon that three Tennessee Lady Vols have earned All-Region accolades. Erin Edmoundson and Kiki Milloy were recognized on the NFCA All-Southeast Region Second Team, while Zaida Puni received All-Southeast Region Third Team honors.

The All-Region awards honor softball student-athletes from the NFCA's 10 regions with first, second and third-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated student-athletes and voted for the teams. All awarded student-athletes now become eligible for the 2022 NFCA Division I All-America squads.

Erin Edmoundson • LHP • Gr. • Deer Park, Texas
Tennessee's most consistent presence in the circle, Edmoundson led the Lady Vol staff in ERA (2.46), wins (19), appearances (26), complete games (11), shutouts (3), innings pitched (156.2) and strikeouts (143) over the course of the regular season. In league play, she ranked top 10 in the conference in ERA, innings pitched, strikeouts, victories and appearances.

Edmoundson collects her second-career All-Region honor after taking home All-Central Region Second Team accolades as a sophomore in 2019.
Kiki Milloy • OF • Jr. • Woodinville, Wash.
Milloy becomes the 21st player in Tennessee history with multiple All-Region selections as a Lady Vol after a strong junior campaign in which she has led UT in nearly every offensive category. The All-American center fielder boasts a team-high .355 batting average, 1.124 OPS, 51 runs, 65 hits, 12 doubles, 14 homers and 29 stolen bases. In conference games, she ranked second on the team with 22 hits and 16 runs scored while leading the Big Orange with two triples and eight steals.

Zaida Puni • INF • So. • Carson, Calif.
In her first season with the Lady Vols, Puni powered a Tennessee lineup that was among the conference leaders in runs scored and OPS as a team. Starting 54 games this season, she leads the Lady Vols with 14 homers and 50 RBIs while ranking second on the team with 50 hits and a .613 slugging percentage. Her team-high nine home runs and 25 RBIs against league opponents tied for third-most in the conference this season, while her .753 slugging percentage in conference action ranked ninth in the SEC. Starting all 23 league games for UT at third base, Puni hit .301 and ranked second on the team with 22 hits against SEC foes.

Puni is a first-time All-Region honoree. Since 1997, the Lady Vols have totaled 81 All-Region selections from 43 different student-athletes.

Tennessee begins NCAA Tournament play at home this weekend, serving as host to the 17th consecutive NCAA Knoxville Regional at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium. The Lady Vols welcome Ohio State, Oregon State and Campbell for the postseason event and open regional play against the Fighting Camels on Friday at approximately 6:30 p.m. ET.
