Men’s Golf Central: Mason Rudolph Championship
March 31, 2022 | Men's Golf
The 20th-ranked Tennessee men's golf team is back in action for its second tournament in one week, keeping it in the Volunteer State with the Mason Rudolph Championship at the Vanderbilt Legends South Course in Franklin, Tennessee.
The Vols are set to play three total rounds—teeing off the weekend with 18 holes on Friday and then 18 holes apiece on Saturday and Sunday.
According to Golfweek's college rankings, three of the participating teams in the Mason Rudolph Championship are ranked inside the top 20—all three SEC teams. At No. 20, Tennessee is the third-highest ranked team in the field.
Tennessee competed in the Vanderbilt Legends Collegiate last season in Franklin, but that tournament was contested at the venue's North course.
The Vols last competed at the South course in 2019, finishing in third place as a team in that year's Mason Rudolph Championship. Current Vols Hunter Wolcott, Spencer Cross and Tyler Johnson all competed in the event, with Wolcott (T-19th) and Cross (T-21st) recording top-25 finishes.
Tennessee was also scheduled to appear in the Mason Rudolph Championship in 2020 before it was canceled due to COVID.
