Women’s Golf Central: Valspar Augusta Invitational

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Tennessee women's golf team is geared up for its third tournament of the spring, the Valspar Augusta Invitational, which is set to run Saturday-Sunday, March 12-13.
The tournament marks the first time since March 2017 in which the Lady Vols have competed in Augusta. That week, Tennessee posted a second-place finish in the 14-team field. This year's 16-team field includes five Golfweek top-25 teams and a pair of top-10 opponents.
LADY VOLS' LINEUP
Mikayla Bardwell
At the Gators Invitational last week, Bardwell finished tied for 38th with a three-day score of +11, 221. Earlier this spring, Bardwell earned the 10th top-10 finish of her collegiate career, finishing the ICON Invitational in her home-state of Texas tied for sixth place (-7, 209).
Hadley Walts
At the Gators Invitational last weekend, Walts posted the fifth round of par or better this season. The Valspar Augusta Invitational will serve as the senior's 15th career tournament appearance for the Lady Vols.
Kayla Holden
Holden, a sophomore from Coral Springs, Florida, posted a career-best round of 69 this season in round two of the ICON Invitational to open the spring. She is coming off a T45 finish (+12,222) at the Gators Invitational.
Vanessa Gilly
In last week's action at the Gators Invitational, Gilly finished the 54-hole event tied for 52nd (+15, 225). In the fall, Gilly recorded the second-best finish of her Lady Vol career, at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship, where she finished tied for 16th (+3, 216).
Bailey Davis
Davis enters her eighth tournament with Tennessee having logged seven rounds of par or better this season, along with two top-25 finishes. The freshman from White Plains, Maryland, owns a low round of 67 this season, which she carded in round three of The Ally in the fall.

Nicole Whiston (individual)
This week, Whiston will surpass the 70-round mark for her Tennessee career, currently standing at 69. The weekend in Augusta will also serve as the seventh tournament appearance of Whiston's junior campaign.
