Nwogwugwu & Robinson Pick Up Wins at Doc Hale Elite Meet

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Tennessee sophomore Ethan Robinson set a personal best Friday at the Doc Hale Elite Meet as he went 8.05 seconds to win the men's 60-meter hurdles at Virginia Tech's Rector Field House.
Robinson was the second overall qualifier following prelims as he turned in a time of 8.18 to advance to finals. The Glenmoore, Pennsylvania, native won the finals with his time of 8.05.
Peyton Davis and Yariel Soto joined Robinson in the 60mH finals, placing fifth and seventh, respectively. Davis set a personal best at 8.46, while Soto crossed the line in 8.67.
Newcomer Uchechi Nwogwugwu picked up her first win as a Lady Vol Friday in the women's 400-meter, crossing the line in 54.68.
On Friday night, six Vols and Lady Vols set personal bests, led by Peyton Davis who posted two personal best times in the 60-meter hurdles within an hour and a half. In prelims, Davis went 8.56 and followed up with a time of 8.46 in the 60mH finals.
Robinson set two personal bests on the first day of the Doc Hale Elite Meet starting with his time in the 60mH. He then tied his PB in pole vault with a height of 4.50m (14-9).
