Track Central: SEC Indoor Championships

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Tennessee track & field program begins indoor postseason action Friday and Saturday, as 52 student-athletes traveled to Bryan-College Station, Texas, for the 2022 SEC Indoor Championships. The conference meet is scheduled for February 25-26 at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium.
UT begins the championship meet Friday with three athletes competing in the combined events, starting at 12:30 p.m. ET with the men's heptathlon 60-meter dash. The women's pentathlon gets underway at 1 p.m. with the pentathlon 60-meter hurdles.
Friday's field events begin at 4:30 p.m. with women's weight throw, while the women's mile preliminaries start action on the track at 6:20 p.m.
Men's heptathlon 60m hurdles begins the day Saturday at 11 a.m., with the conference meet concluding with the men's 4x400m relay.
BROADCAST INFO
Live coverage of the SEC Indoor Track & Field Championships will stream on SEC Network+ at 12:30 p.m. ET on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday. The broadcast talent includes Dwight Stones, Dan O'Brien, Jill Montgomery and John Anderson. A tape-delayed broadcast of the championships will air on the SEC Network Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.

RANKINGS UPDATE
The latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Track & Field Rating Index was released earlier this week and featured the Vols at No. 11 and the Lady Vols at No. 16.
Nine SEC teams rank among the top-25 in both the men's and women's poll heading into the SEC Championships.
UP NEXT
Tennessee athletes that post top-16 NCAA qualifying marks will travel to Birmingham, Alabama, for the 2022 NCAA Indoor National Championships. The nation's top athletes will converge on the Birmingham CrossPlex Friday and Sunday, March 11-12.
