LAST TIME OUT
UT faced off against Florida on Wednesday night, battling the Gators through four sets. UF ultimately won the match but sophomore Erykah Lovett continued her hot start to SEC play with a career-high 21 kills.
TITLE IX MATCH
In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Title IX, Tennessee Athletics' recently updated brand standards have renamed the blue accent color historically associated with the Lady Vols "Summitt Blue."
Summitt Blue stands alongside "Smokey Grey" and "Dark Mode" (formerly Anthracite) as the three accent colors on Tennessee Athletics' official color palette. Volleyball is one of four teams that will debut the Summitt Blue uniforms during the 2022-23 academic year – a collection dubbed the "Summitt Legacy" series.
Tennessee will wear its Summitt Blue uniforms on Saturday against South Carolina.
LOVIN' IT
The daughter of a volleyball coach, Lovett has raised her performance level every weekend for the Lady Vols. She currently ranks second on the squad in kills with 198 and is averaging 3.47 kills per set on the year. Since the start of SEC play, the Newnan, Georgia, native has totaled 72 kills in four matches – averaging 4.80 kills per set – and is hitting .386 percent.
CLOSING IN ON 1,000
Right-side attacker Morgahn Fingall enters the weekend with 926 career kills and is closing in on the 1,000-kill milestone. Currently ranked 12th in kills in Tennessee history during the rally scoring era, she would become just the 10th player to reach 1,000 career kills since rally scoring went into effect in 2001.
SWEEPS-VILLE
Six of the Lady Vols' eight wins this season have come in three sets. Including last season, 20 of UT's last 28 wins have been sweeps.
