October 04, 2022 | Soccer
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Junior defender Lawson Renie has been named to the College Soccer News Women's National Team of the Week as announced Tuesday.
The recognition comes after Tennessee shutout then-No.13 Ole Miss on the road on Friday, taking a 1-0 win to improve to 7-3-1 overall and 3-1 in SEC play.
Renie anchored the Lady Vols' defense for the full 90 minutes in Oxford as UT limited the previously undefeated Rebels to just nine shots and three shots on goal.
She also got involved in the attack, getting in the box on a corner kick and placing a header on frame. She leads the team in minutes played and has been on the pitch for the full 90 minutes in six contests this season.
No. 19 Tennessee will be back in action on Thursday, hosting Missouri in a 7 p.m. ET contest that will be streamed on SECN+.
