Race Central: Head of the Charles

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Tennessee rowing wraps up its fall slate this weekend with the Head of the Charles Regatta, one of the world's largest rowing events. The Lady Vols boast two boats racing in the Women's Championship in the 8+ at 2:11 p.m. on Sunday. Â

In a field of 29 boats from the nation's top programs, UT's 1V8 and 2V8 boats will compete in the prestigious event. During the first regatta of the fall, the Lady Vol 1V8 posted the fastest time (16:53.5) out of six boats in the Women's Open Eight event at the Secret City Head Race, while the 2V8 took third in the event.
