Incoming Freshman Taylor Huff Named National Scholar Player of the Year

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Incoming Tennessee freshman Taylor Huff was named National Scholar Player of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches, as the association announced the 2020-21 High School Scholar All-Americans on Friday.Â
Huff highlights a list of 49 girls honored for a combination of excellence in the classroom (minimum of a 3.75 cumulative GPA) and outstanding performance on the field during their secondary school careers. Ben Liscum was also named National Scholar Player of the Year, topping a list of 36 boys.
Huff graduated at the top of her class at Madison Comprehensive High School in Mansfield, Ohio, sporting a perfect 4.00 GPA.

Named Ms. Soccer by the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association, Huff had a brilliant prep career at Madison, leading her team to an unbeaten season and the 2020 Ohio Division II state championship. She scored 34 goals and recorded 27 assists as a senior last fall for the Lady Rams, finishing her career with 133 goals and an OHSAA state record 93 career assists. A four-time United Soccer Coaches All-American, she was also the named 2020 National Player of the Year.Â
