The Vols got off to an incredibly fast start, winning the doubles point in 28 minutes to take an early 1-0 lead.

SCOUTING GEORGIA
Georgia arrives at Thursday's match fresh off a 4-3 upset victory over No. 6 North Carolina on Monday morning.
The programs previously played during the 2021 dual season in what was a 4-2 victory for the Vols in Athens to open up SEC play.
As was the case in February, Georgia has multiple singles players and doubles tandems ranked by the ITA.
In singles, Georgia is led by No. 15 Trent Bryde, No. 19 Philip Henning and No. 27 Tyler Zink, giving them three players ranked inside the nation's top-30.
In doubles, the Bulldogs feature the seventh ranked pair of Bryde and Zink, along with No. 54 Blake Croyder and Billy Rowe.
The last time the programs met in the NCAA Tournament was in 2011 at the same stage as Thursday, and saw the Red & Black nip the Orange & White, 4-3 at the Taube Tennis Center in Stanford, California.
PRATA AND WALTS STAY UNDEFEATED IN NCAA TOURNEY
Martim Prata and Adam Walton continued their impressive NCAA Tournament runs, with both upping their overall tournament records to 5-0.
Prata is 2-0 in singles play and a perfect 3-0 in doubles with partner Johannus Monday as the pair has helped the Vols clinch all three doubles points in Tennis' big dance.
Walton and doubles partner Pat Harper are 2-0 in doubles and in singles Walton has been stellar for the Vols, holding an unblemished 3-0 record while clinching match point against Arizona to send the Vols to the quarterfinal round.
VOLS WINNING AT ELITE LEVEL IN 2021
Tennessee's 27 dual match wins are the most for the program since 2010 when the Orange & White advanced to the National Championship match.
That 2010 squad finished the year 31-2 winning both the SEC regular season and tournament championships, led by All-Americans and VFL's JP Smith, Davey Sandgren and then-freshman Rhyne Williams.
A WIN WOULD…
A win would send the Vols to the semifinal round for the first time since 2010 and for the seventh time in program history.
A win would also give UT its 18th victory over a ranked opponent, a total that is constantly growing and is still the most ranked victories in America.
A victory would lastly be UT's second over Georgia this season, giving the Vols multiple wins over the Bulldogs in the same for the first time since 2011 and for the sixth time in program history.
UP NEXT
A win would send Tennessee to the NCAA semifinals on Friday afternoon against the winner of Thursday's second quarterfinal between No. 2 Baylor and No. 7 TCU. First serve for that potential match is slated for 2 p.m. ET on the Tennis One App.
