Women’s Golf Central: SEC Championship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Tennessee women's golf team begins postseason competition this week at the SEC Championship, beginning on Wednesday.
Three rounds of stroke play will take place from Wednesday to Friday, with the top eight teams advancing to match play on Saturday and Sunday.
All 14 SEC teams will be in Birmingham for the first SEC Championship since 2019. There are currently eight teams in the conference ranked inside of the top 25.
LADY VOLS' LINEUP
Nicole Whiston
Whiston concluded the regular season with three top-20 finishes over her last five tournament appearances. After claiming her first top-10 finish of the season and tying for sixth place at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic with a three-round score of even par (216), she was named the SEC Newcomer of the Week.
She tied her career-best round of 68 (-4) during the second round in Baton Rouge and her 15 total birdies led the tournament field.
The sophomore has posted a score of 73 or better in six of her last 10 rounds and leads the Lady Vols with a spring average of 73.75.
Mikayla Bardwell
In the regular season finale at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic, Bardwell secured her fourth top-20 finish of the season. She finished tied for 20th at +5 (221).
Bardwell holds a first round average of 72.88 this season
Micheala Williams-Luck
After wrapping up the regular season by finishing tied for 34th (+8, 224) at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic, Williams-Luck enters her fourth SEC Championship as Tennessee's all-time program leader in career rounds played with 152.
She needs two more rounds of par or better to tie the Lady Vol program record for the second-most career rounds of par or better.
Vanessa Gilly
Gilly finished the LSU Tiger Golf Classic in a tie for 55th, shooting +14 (230). The freshman enters her first SEC Championship with a season average of 75.81 and a top-10 finish under her belt.
Kayla Holden
Holden is making her sixth consecutive tournament appearance as the Lady Vols prepare to compete at the SEC Championship. As a freshman, the Coral Springs, Florida, native holds a season-best single round score of 70, which came at the Gators Invitational.

• Wednesday's opening round of the 2021 SEC Championship will mark the first time in 726 days that Tennessee will compete in the SEC Championship, as the 2020 edition of the tournament was cancelled due to COVID-19.
