Vols in 12th After Day Two at Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – The No. 23 University of Tennessee men's golf team sits in 12th place following Monday's second round of play at the Puerto Rico Classic.

Following a performance on Sunday in which it shot 2-over (290), the Vols carded a 5-over 293 on Monday.
For the second straight day, redshirt junior Hunter Wolcott led Tennessee on the course, carding an even par performance. Entering the third and final round of the tournament, Wolcott is tied for 23rd place at 2-under overall. Just three total strokes separate Wolcott from the top 10.

For the 2019-20 season as a whole, Wolcott has now carded eight rounds of par or better.

Carding a 1-over round on Monday, Rhys Nevin sits in a tie for 38th place following round two. Nevin produced four birdies during the second round, leading the Vols in that category.

Redshirt sophomore Chase Roswall came in one stroke behind Nevin after firing a 1-over 72 for the second straight day. Through the first two rounds, Roswall is on pace to notch his best tournament score of the 2019-20 season.

Giving Tennessee's its final counting score of the day was Tyler Johnson, who shot a 3-over 75 for the second consecutive day. Johnson is 6-over through two rounds.

Just one stroke behind Johnson during round two was senior Jake Meenhorst, who fired a 4-over 76. Meenhorst is 9-over entering Tuesday's final round.
