Volleyball Preview: Lady Vols Wrap Up Fall Season at Auburn

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Lady Vol volleyball team wraps up the fall schedule Wednesday and Thursday down on The Plains at Auburn.
First serve Wednesday is slated for 8 p.m. ET, while Thursday's match gets underway at 6 p.m.
BROADCAST INFO
Wednesday's matchup will be televised on SEC Network, with Eric Frede (play-by-play) and Katie George (color) describing the action.
On Thursday, Kele Eveland will call the match for SEC Network+.
LAST TIME OUT
Tennessee (2-4, 2-4 SEC) is coming off a series split with South Carolina, which saw UT win the opening match in four sets before falling in three in the second meeting.
Junior Lily Felts led the offense in both matches against the Gamecocks, scoring 19 kills in match one and 18 kills in match two. Felts' 19 kills tied her career-high.
KILL STREAK
Before tallying 19 kills and 18 kills against South Carolina, Felts scored 15 and 19 versus Georgia. Dating to the Oct. 28 matchup with the Bulldogs, Felts has posted double digit kills in four consecutive matches.
She tied her career-high of 19 kills twice during the four-match span, against Georgia on Oct. 29 and against South Carolina on Nov. 6.
Felts is also riding a three-match double-double streak, earning 19 kills and 20 digs on Oct. 29, 19 kills and 19 digs on Nov. 6 and 18 kills and 11 digs on Nov. 7.
BELLWEATHER
Junior Ava Bell continues to be a force in the middle for the Lady Vols this season as she ranks in the top 10 in the SEC in both hitting percentage and blocks per set.
Bell's .345 hitting percentage ranks seventh in the conference, while her 1.09 blocks per set places her eighth in the league. In total, Bell has 50 kills and 25 blocks over six matches.
SCOUTING AUBURN
The Tigers (0-6, 0-6 SEC) were swept by No. 2 Kentucky their last time out, losing both matches in straight sets. Through its first six matches, Auburn has been swept five times, with its only set win coming on the road at South Carolina.
Junior Tatum Shipes leads the Tigers offensively with 39 kills and averages 2.05 K/S. Freshman Jackie Barrett has been the main setter for Auburn, averaging 7.31 A/S.
SERIES HISTORY
Tennessee is 33-20-1 all-time against Auburn and is currently riding a three-match win streak in the series.
The last meeting between the Lady Vols and Tigers saw UT come away with a four-set victory in Knoxville. Felts had 14 kills and a pair of blocks for UT in the win, while Danielle Mahaffey added eight kills on the night.
UT's last visit to Auburn on Oct. 6, 2019 resulted in Tennessee sweeping the Tigers on their home floor for the first time since 2000.
