PINK NIGHT: For the third year in a row, Tennessee will don pink Nike jerseys in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Vols are undefeated in the pink jerseys since introducing them two years ago, picking up wins over LSU (2-1) in 2018 and Georgia (1-0) in 2019.
SOCCER SCARVES: The first 100 fans in the gate Friday night will receive a voucher to pick up the 2020 Tennessee soccer scarf at halftime. Gates open one hour prior to kickoff. Additionally, a limited number of scarves will be on sale at AllVols.com beginning Saturday, October 24.
LAST TIME OUT: Tennessee (2-2-1) posted a 1-1 draw at Kentucky last week, as both goals were scored in the first six minutes of action in Lexington. Junior fullback Abbey Burdette scored the first goal of her college career 81 seconds into the match, smashing in a header off the corner kick service from Claudia Dipasupil. Four minutes later, Kentucky leveled the contest on a 20-yard strike from Julia Grosso for the match's final tally.
STOUT AT REGAL: Since 2017, the Vols sport an impressive 28-5-1 (.838) record at Regal Soccer Stadium—outscoring visiting opponents 76-27 over that span with 18 shutouts.
Most recently, UT claimed a 2-1 victory over Missouri for its second home win of the 2020 campaign. Alicia Donley and Jaida Thomas accounted for scores in the divisional matchup.
CONFERENCE LEADERS: Five weeks into the season, a couple of young Vols find themselves at the top of the SEC leaderboard in three statistical categories.
Redshirt freshman forward Jaida Thomas has scored two game-winning goals this fall, which ties with four other players for most in the SEC. She also leads the league with a .692 shot-on-goal percentage (9 of 13).
Sophomore midfielder Claudia Dipasupil leads the conference with three assists this season, recording each of those in her last two appearances. Prior to UT's 2-1 win over Missouri, she had yet to record an assist in her collegiate career.
SERIES HISTORY: Tennessee owns a 6-1 all-time record against Texas A&M, including an unblemished 4-0 mark at Regal Soccer Stadium.
The Vols posted a pair of historic wins over the Aggies in 2018. During the regular season, No. 18 Tennessee traveled to College Station and picked up the program's first road win over a top-5 opponent—routing No. 5 Texas A&M 4-0 with a six-minute flurry of four goals late in the second half.
Four weeks later, the two programs squared off in the NCAA Tournament Round of 16 in Knoxville. Guided by a brace from senior forward Danielle Marcano, the Vols came out on top 3-0 to book the program's first trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES: In his 28th year as the Texas A&M head coach, G Guerrieri has his Aggies off to a 3-1 start this fall with wins over Ole Miss (3-0), Florida (2-1) and Mississippi State (3-0). A&M boasts the league's top scoring offense with 2.25 goals per game.
Freshman midfielder Barbara Olivieri is Texas A&M's top attacking threat, leading the Aggies with three goals and two assists in four matches this season. Junior goalkeeper Jordan Burbank made her season debut last week against Mississippi State, recording her first career clean sheet as A&M limited the Bulldogs to six shots and one shot-on-goal Friday night.
UP NEXT: Tennessee will embark on its final road trip of the regular fall season next week, traveling to Gainesville to take on the Florida Gators. The match was recently rescheduled due to a conflict with UF football and will now kick off Friday, October 30 at 6 p.m.
