KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee soccer program returns to Regal Soccer Stadium Sunday afternoon for its SEC home opener, hosting the Alabama Crimson Tide. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Â
Admission and parking for all regular season matches at Regal Soccer Stadium are both free of charge. Gates will open at noon Sunday, and fans should be reminded that Tennessee's clear bag policy will be in effect.
Â
Sunday's contest will be streamed live on SEC Network+, available online and through the ESPN app. Live stats will also be provided via SIDEARM Stats.
Â
PROMOTIONS: In honor of National Coffee Day, UT's Fan Experience department will give out 100 Tennessee Soccer coffee mugs to go along with free donuts and coffee. Other promotions include Sunday Fundae (ice cream vouchers and access to toppings bar for the first 100 kids) and a pregame kids' corner.
Â
LAST TIME OUT: Tennessee suffered its second-straight 1-0 loss Thursday night at Auburn, dropping to 6-3-1 on the season and 0-2 in league play. It marked the first time the Vols lost back-to-back matches since October of 2017.
Â
The Vols won the battle for possession against the Tigers, logging a season-high 63-37 possession advantage at Auburn. The Vols also outshot the Tigers 12-7 for the match, 8-3 in the second half.
Â
HOME COOKIN': Tennessee rides a 10-match home win streak heading into Sunday. With a victory against Alabama, the Vols would equal their program record of 11-consecutive home wins, set during the 2005-06 seasons.
Â
DEEP SQUAD: Through ten matches this season, Tennessee has seen 10 different players score a goal. That mark ties with Alabama and Arkansas for second in the SEC behind South Carolina (12).
Â
SERIES HISTORY: UT owns a 13-6-1 (.675) all-time record against the Crimson Tide, including three wins in the last four meetings. In the most recent matchup, No. 25 Tennessee defeated Alabama in Tuscaloosa 2-0 behind goals from Bunny Shaw and Salera Jordan on Sept. 28, 2017, almost exactly two years prior to this year's contest.
Â
SCOUTING ALABAMA: The Crimson Tide enters Sunday's match on a two-game losing skid, dropping back-to-back SEC matchups against No. 13 Arkansas (1-0) and No. 8 South Carolina (5-2).
Â
Under the guidance of fifth-year head coach Tom Hart, Alabama owns a 5-4-1 overall record. The Tide is led by forward Casey Wertz on the stat sheet with four goals and three assists through the first 10 matches.
Â
UP NEXT: Tennessee will take a week off between matches before hosting the Kentucky Wildcats next Sunday. The match is set for 3 p.m. at Regal Soccer Stadium and will be televised on the SEC Network.
