San Diego, Cali. -- Tennessee closed out competition at the San Diego Crew Classic on Sunday with the 1V8 and 2V4 boats each finishing fourth in their finals, while the 2V8 and 1V4 took fifth and sixth, respectively.

In UT's first race of the day, the 1V4 shaved more than 11 seconds off its time from the day before, making it down the course in 7:45.005 to finish sixth in the Women's Collegiate Varsity 4+ Karen Plumleigh Cortney Cup Final 2. SDSU took first with a time of 7:34.30.

In the Women's Collegiate 2V Jackie Ann Stitt Hungness Trophy Final 2, the Lady Vols finished fifth with a time of 7:08.298. They were narrowly edged out by SDSU and Gonzaga who finished third and fourth, respectively, with times of 7:07.176 and 7:07.638. Oklahoma posted a time of 6:58.946 to take first in the event.

UT's 1V8 held off SDSU to finish fourth in the Women's Collegiate Varsity Jessop-Whittier Cup Invitational Final 2, recording a time of 6:59.225. Stanford Lightweights took first with a time of 6:52.113, followed by Gonzaga at 6:54.805.

In Tennessee's final race of the day, the 2V4 took fourth in the Women's Collegiate 4+ B Final, besting SDSU, San Diego and UC Santa Barbara with a time of 8:27.961. Washington State made it down the course in 8:08.635 to take first.

Up Next: Tennessee will be action again on April 19-20, traveling to the Clemson Invitational.
